I'm racing in the McLaren Trophy in 2026
I'm very excited to announce an important step in my motorsport career. After several successful years in the EuroNASCAR series, I will be competing in the 2026 McLaren Trophy season for Team TARGET.
This opportunity means a great deal to me and marks a new chapter on my path in international motorsport.
A few years ago, motorsport expert and journalist Wolfgang Koepp gave me the opportunity to test a EuroNASCAR car for the first time. This test took place as part of an official programme in France and became a defining moment in my career.
This chance opened the door to the EuroNASCAR series, where I was able to develop as a driver and prove myself at international level.
In the years that followed, I worked hard and improved step by step. I achieved wins and multiple podium finishes along with many strong results. The highlight of my career so far was the 2024 season, when I became Vice European Champion in EuroNASCAR Open and simultaneously won the European Championship in EuroNASCAR Team Endurance.
At the end of 2025, we started thinking about what the next step in my career could look like. Together with Wolfgang Koepp, we decided to test my talent in international GT racing as well.
In early February 2026, I got the opportunity to test a McLaren GT race car for the first time at the Circuito de Navarra in Spain. From the very first laps, I felt very comfortable in the car and was able to deliver consistently fast lap times.
After this test, I received another invitation from McLaren.
In early March 2026, I had the chance to participate in another test as part of the McLaren Evo Trophy at the legendary Autodromo Nazionale Monza.
On this iconic high-speed circuit, I was able to quickly adapt to the car and show consistent pace over multiple stints.
Shortly after, incredible news followed: I signed a contract with McLaren Team TARGET for the 2026 McLaren Trophy season.
Joining the McLaren Trophy is a major step forward for me. After my years in formula racing and EuroNASCAR, a new chapter in international GT racing now begins.
This opportunity motivates me enormously to keep working hard, to develop further as a driver, and to compete at the highest level.
Together with McLaren and Team TARGET, I want to continue building my professional motorsport career.

From karting to international motorsport - my journey as an Austrian-Slovak racing driver
I'm Patrick Schober, 21 years old, an Austrian-Slovak racing driver with the clear goal of establishing myself in professional international motorsport. With passion, discipline and full commitment, I'm consistently working towards taking the next step at the highest level.
Even as a child, I discovered my passion for motorsport. Through karting and various junior series, I consistently worked my way up and showed early on what I'm capable of.
Through Formula König and Formula 4, I consistently worked my way up in international formula racing. Titles such as FIA-CEZ Central European Champion and Austrian National Champion in Formula 4 were key milestones on my path to becoming a professional racing driver.
Moving to the EuroNASCAR series was a turning point in my career. With team RDV-Competition, I found the perfect foundation to compete at the highest European level.
A year of dual challenges: I successfully completed my Matura (high school diploma) while simultaneously doing an internship at Projekt Spielberg - Driving Center - a unique combination of education and motorsport practice.
The 2024 season became my most successful yet: I secured the title of Vice European Champion in EuroNASCAR Open and became Team European Champion in EuroNASCAR Endurance. On top of that, I was honoured as Austria's Racing Driver of the Year at the FormelAustria Award - a confirmation of my career so far.
My focus is firmly on the future: I'm actively exploring opportunities in international professional motorsport - including talks with teams and manufacturers at the highest level. With 46 wins and multiple championship titles in FIA-licensed motorsport, I bring a strong foundation for the next step in my career.

It's official: I will be competing in the McLaren Trophy for Team TARGET in the 2026 season! After successful tests at Navarra and Monza, I signed a contract. Entering international GT racing is a dream come true. Together with McLaren and Team TARGET, a new chapter in my career begins – and I can't wait to get on track!
During my recent test drives in the McLaren environment, I fully convinced. The tests showed promising results in terms of lap times and consistency. The engineers were impressed by my adaptability and technical feedback. A possible next step towards international deployments is emerging.
For the 2026 season, I'm in intensive talks with potential sponsors and partners. My goal is to build a solid financial foundation for my ambitious plans for the upcoming season. Several promising contacts are currently being developed.
I'm actively exploring various options for the 2026 season. Talks with teams and manufacturers from international professional motorsport are progressing on multiple fronts. The decision about my cockpit for 2026 is expected in the coming weeks.
An incredible honour: I was voted Austria's Racing Driver of the Year at the FormelAustria Award 2024! I prevailed against the likes of Klaus Bachler and Lucas Auer. This award means so much to me and shows that hard work and passion pay off. Thank you to all the fans who voted for me!
